SAASS Logo
In 2024, SAASS undertook a member-driven initiative to revamp its logo, marking the society’s growth and 10-year milestone. Through consultation, the design was updated to enhance quality and resolution while preserving its core elements. The revised logo highlights key archaeological materials from southern Africa, celebrating SAASS members' creativity and heritage.
Previous Logo
Designed by Kelita Shadrach in collaboration with the 2019–2021 Council. It visually represented the society’s mission, incorporating key archaeological elements that reflected the diverse material culture of southern Africa, symbolising SAASS’s commitment to supporting students and early-career researchers.
Revamped Logo
Revamped by Frances Munro in 2024, the updated SAASS logo enhances quality while preserving the society’s identity. It moves beyond a timeline framework, incorporating key archaeological elements such as stone tools, pottery, and rock art. This design reflects SAASS’s growth, its members' creativity, and the rich heritage of southern African archaeology.
